Federal Prosecutors Say Obama Prayer Leader Linked To Hamas

For the Love of God folks, I can't imagine how these things can all be an accident.

What, the vetting process in an Obama administration doesn't discover that his pick for Treasury Secretary cheated on his taxes, that his pick for Commerce Secretary is under investigation for criminal conduct, or that his pick for Global Warming Czar has socialist ties?

Well what about the message this choice by Obama sends to the world:

A Muslim scholar chosen to speak at President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural prayer service Wednesday is the leader of a group that federal prosecutors say has ties to terrorists.

Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of North America, is one of many religious leaders scheduled to speak at the prayer service at Washington's National Cathedral.

But in 2007 and as recently as last July, federal prosecutors in Dallas filed court documents linking the Hartford, Conn.-based Islamic society to the group Hamas, which the U.S. considers a terrorist organization.

Linda Douglass, a spokeswoman for Obama's inaugural committee, would not discuss the case or say whether the committee knew about it.

"She has a stellar reputation in the faith community," Douglass said Saturday night.

Seriously now, is it possible that we are about to open the gates and allow a Trojan Horse to roll into the White House?

The video below is far too long to be viewed in this window but for those of you out there who are hunters and want to enjoy the wonderful and healthy delicacy of fresh venison, this video will give you a step by step method for preparing your harvest for the holiday season and beyond.

And for those of you who may be curious about our programming, perhaps this introduction will get you on board as a regular viewer.

Blogging Will Be Light As Today Is Opening Day Of Dove Season

While many of you will be celebrating Labor Day around a grill and a cooler, I will be standing on the edge of a field with family and friends as today is opening day of dove season and we hope to bag our limit.

Happy holiday everybody.

I missed it this year, but Lance Mackey Defends His Title and Wins Iditarod Again

Kentucky is known as the first frontier.  To the early settlers Kentucky was the land beyond the mountains, unspoiled and bountiful in so many ways.  Alaska is known as the last frontier.  It too lies beyond the mountains, and is in many ways unspoiled and certainly beautiful.

As many of you know I love Alaska for the same reasons I love Kentucky.  And this is the first year in many where a new project which I will announce later this week kept me from the Iditarod.

I have spent time in the icy wilderness of Alaska, hundreds of miles from civilization in the dead of winter at minus thirty Fahrenheit.  I have felt the sting of frozen air and understood the risks and determination of the men who are honored by the "Last Great Race".  I have stood at the statue of Balto the famous lead sled dog who traveled the over 1000 miles from Anchorage to Nome to bring much needed medicine to the village in the dead of winter.

The race is an exciting event and last night Lance Mackey, a cancer survivor, crossed the finish line in Nome to win the race again this year.

Congratulations to Lance and to all of the brave participants.  I can't wait to talk with my friend, Lila, a nurse practitioner, who was a spotter out on the trail this year.

In the meantime, here is a photo from one of my trips.  It is January, we are standing on the frozen Susitna River with the current rumbling 6 feet below our boots.  That's me with the obligatory facial hair in the red suit.
