Rand Paul's campaign is phenomenal. No matter what Trey Grayson does Paul's folks have an uncanny knack for seizing the moment for themselves.
Last week WYMT reported in advance of Monday's airing, that Grayson claimed during an interview that Paul was "not a Kentuckian". In a matter of minutes it seemed the Internet and mainstream news sources, were buzzing with Paul's response that he has been a Kentuckian far longer than Grayson has been a republican.
Then Paul added fuel to the fire by his good natured call for Grayson to send him a check, either a government one or a personal one, as a refund of all the Kentucky taxes Paul had been paying over the years some of which had been paying Grayson's salary. The banter was lighthearted but it was Paul who got the attention and more favorably than Grayson from the affair.
Today a Youtube video surfaced in which a stone faced young man (allegedly a Grayson employee) is seen video taping Rand Paul cooking at a charity event. Chris Hightower, employed by Rand Paul, tries to get the young man to speak and with a good deal of humor answers for him every time "no comment". The Grayson person is supposed to be a "tracker", someone who follows a candidate around to capture footage for use later in attack commercials.
So how did Paul come out of this one? With a bunch of favorable, lighthearted press again making Grayson look like the dark force lurking around looking for a chance to pounce and Paul like the more open and charitable of the two.
Whether it is by luck or not, the Paul campaign seems to have a golden touch so far. No matter what is thrown in their direction they seem to find a way to turn it into something of value for their candidate. This is becoming a daily event, watching to see how deftly Paul handles himself against what many considered to be the more politically sophisticated Grayson.
So far it's been all Paul.

I think the reason for all the surveillance was so Grayson could make sure he got his issues right.

Carpetbaggers?? Oh, you mean those 17 bailout Senators, PAC's, and lobbyists from Washington that keep holding the $500 a plate dinners for Trey Grayson? BTW, his real first, legal, name is Randall.

You are right.
As far as Mr. Alexander Hamilton here. Nice tidbit. Too bad it isn't true. I know it would take all of ten seconds to look up that his name is Randall, that he went by Randy, and later shortened it to Rand, but ten seconds is a long time these days. Its much easier to make crap up.
Rand has the nickname of the last name of an author who happened to be an atheist and shares a few of his idealogical views concerning the freemarket. Who needs logic anyways.

"Carpetbaggers and hired guns bought and paid for with.....deep pockets..."
And Trey Grayson's fundraiser in Washington D.C., where he received money from 16 U.S. Senators who don't live in Kentucky and voted for the bailout, is....what?

Hilarious Alex....
Rand is short for Randall you idiot. He is not named after Ayn Rand and so what if he was..what would that have to do with his campaign. If your real name is alexander Hamilton which im guessing it is not, you should know he was the first and major suppporter of a central banking system...wow...irony.

Alexander Hamilton is what we call a troll, he tries to entice arguments over the internet cause he has nothing better to do with his life.
Randall Paul is not named after Ayn Rand. Rand is short for Randall.
Look up the definition of a carpet bagger, living in the state and raising a family there for nearly 20 years doesn't count as being one.
etc.etc.etc.

"daddy Ron's deep pockets" please! How about the money Greyson has received from McConnell and another 16 congressman at a fund-raising dinner in DC. Oh by the way, all of those donors voted for the bailouts. How about the money Greyson has accepted from big-time special interest- Ratheon, Duke Electric, AT$T, Exxon Mobil, FedEx, Pfizer.
If it weren't for the deep pockets of elitist politicians and huge corporations Greyson would have virtually no campaign contributions. Greyson is the establishment candidate, he will say all the right things to get elected then he'll swiftly go to work for the big-time donors who put him there. Greyson is a career politician, a Harvard graduate in Government studies, a busy-body lawyer who only knows how to feather his own nest.
Hamilton- Go CATS, looking for 8!!

Hmm, the only putz I see here is the previous commenter. Paul has lived in KY for nearly 20 years. Of course, he's personally addressed the name issue: http://politics.nashvillepost.com/2009/05/20/ron-paul-son-not-named-after-ayn-rand/

What a bunch of putzes. Carpetbaggers and hired guns bought and paid for with Daddy Ron's deep pockets...
I think a new item of the day will be Rand Tidbits...
Tidbit today? Rand is named about which atheist? That's right, Ayn Rand. Atheistic author.
