Oooooo.....Associated Press Calls Obama On Carpet For His Baseless Self Congratulation

This one is worth a read folks.  When the AP publishes a story taking apart bit by bit Barack Obama's self congratulatory celebration of his first 100 days in office, odds are there will be more to come.

Now I'm not saying Barry O can't still make a reporter swoon, but since the honeymoon period is now officially over, let's see if they start complaining that he forgets to put the seat down and makes him pick up his dirty underwear, or not.

His Panic? Flu

There you go again Joe Biden.  While the President and Janet Napolitano are trying to help keep the fear of the flu with no name from further dampening any hope for economic recovery, you go on television and tell people not to fly on airplanes or take the subway.

Great.  Just think of the number of industries you have affected with your comments.  Sure I predicted that by the end of April the press would find some other major story to concentrate on other than the "doom and gloom" of a bad economy, and admittedly I didn't see this story coming (how could I) but you've just taken gaffe to a whole new level.

Because some people think Biden is a leader, they will follow along with his panic over the flu making its way up from Mexico and avoid flying and taking subways.

Instead of building a playground in the rose garden, perhaps Barry Soetoro should have constructed a woodshed for private meetings with Biden.

I've got a name for these two, "The Witt Brothers", Dim and Half.

NOW McConnell Wants His Money Back From Specter

When Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins broke from the republican ranks and voted in favor of the so-called Stimulus package, despite loud protests from republicans, Mitch McConnell thought Specter was the right man for the job and gave him $10,000 toward his re-election.

Then Specter saw the writing on the wall, that his actions would deny him the republican nomination in Pennsylvania, so in a desperate move to keep his job which allows him to vote with the liberals, he switched parties and received the welcome embrace of Barack Obama.  McConnell didn't ask for his money back.

Then McConnell was "outed" for his support of the leftie Specter while at the same time being "outed" for his sneaky efforts to undermine staunch conservative Jim Bunning (who voted against the stimulus spending).

NOW McConnell wants his money back from Specter, or according to a McConnell spokesman, Kentucky's senior Senator “will be taking Sen. Specter up on his offer.” [THEHILL.COM]

By that wording the request hasn't happened yet.  Stay tuned.

McConnell Gave Specter $10,000, Hasn't Asked For It Back, Yet

CQPolitics is reporting that several republican donors, including Kentucky's Mitch McConnell gave money to Arlen Specter, the turncoat republican who has now turned into a democrat, though they haven't asked for it back yet.

McConnell as minority leader knew that Specter had broken ranks and voted in favor of runaway spending by the Obama administration yet he gave him $10,000 just last month.  Joined by other GOP lawmakers they together contributed $42,000 to Specter in March alone.  Specter says he will give it back if asked.

According to the old saw, politics makes for strange bedfellows.  Odd though that McConnell would want to help re-elect a guy who voted in favor of the so called "Stimulus Bill" and not Jim Bunning who voted against it.

Just exactly which side is Mitch on these days?

Obama Gives UAW Control Of Chrysler

Uh, the Barbarians are no longer AT the gate, they are inside and running the show.  According to reports, the United Auto Workers will own 55%  of Chrysler in exchange for debt owed to it by the company.

In light of the fact that the UAW, in it's efforts to improve the "take" of it's members and it's officers from the profits of the auto industry, is perhaps the biggest reason for the failure of the industry, I wonder how they will handle being both management and labor at the same time.

Should make for an interesting show.

CNN Asks Senator Jim DeMint: "What Do You Mean By Freedom?"

Not surprisingly CNN personality Rick Sanchez while interviewing Senator Jim DeMint regarding the party switch of Arlen Specter was confronted with a concept seemingly unfamiliar to him:

He asked the senator from South Carolina if Specter was correct in his analysis that the conservative wing of the Republican Party was squeezing out a segment of the electorate.

"You're shrinking the electorate to an extreme - to a point where a regular Republican can't win," Sanchez said, paraphrasing Specter. "What do you make of that argument?"

However, DeMint explained it was which ideology was best suited to give Americans the freedom to choose in their daily lives that propagated a more prosperous society - both economically and culturally.

"What the hell does that mean?" Sanchez said. "I mean, the biggest tent is freedom? Freedom?" [NEWSBUSTERS]

DeMint went on to explain himself but the "tell" had already happened.  Sanchez was confounded by the notion of liberty and how it has been in an environment of liberty that the United States became the greatest nation in the world.

Unfamiliar territory for CNN I'm sure.

NBC Gives Voice To This: 'Female Virginity Is A Lie'

Author Jessica Valenti in her book "The Purity Myth: How America's Obsession With Virginity Is Hurting Young Women"  makes the rather scandalous argument that

The lie of virginity — the idea that such a thing even exists — is ensuring that young women’s perception of themselves is inextricable from their bodies, and that their ability to be moral actors is absolutely dependent on their sexuality...

A combination of forces — our media- and society-driven virginity fetish, an increase in abstinence-only education, and the strategic political rollback of women’s rights among the primary culprits — has created a juggernaut of unrealistic sexual expectations for young women. Unable to live up to the ideal of purity that’s forced upon them in one aspect of their lives, many young women are choosing the hypersexualized alternative that’s offered to them everywhere else as the easier — and more attractive — option.

Fine, as every one knows I strongly support the freedoms protected by the First Amendment, however, NBC is giving wider voice to this woman's theories as if they are mainstream.

Now I was blessed with two sons and had to wait for a daughter until one of them married, but knowing several sets of parents who are trying to raise daughters in this crazy world, I doubt that the projection of this theory by NBC would be welcome in their homes.
