Obama To Use "New Media" For Direct Impact
When I first heard of the "New Media" it had already arrived into the lives of millions. But since I began to tap its power through the blogosphere, my Internet programs and networking, I've seen it grow exponentially in a very short period of time.
If there is one change which the Obama campaign seemed to promise it was the anticipated increased use of the "New Media" to communicate with people. Now, according to Carol Lee at Politico, Obama's presidency is set to propel the New Media to new heights.
“Barack Obama’s use of the Internet to communicate with the American public and the world will have a larger impact on the political media ecology than the declaration that the world was round had on the shipping industry in 1492,” said Andrew Rasiej, co-founder of techPresident.com and Personal Democracy Forum, organizations that look at the relationship between technology and politics.
“It’s not only going to be monumental because of his own behavior,” Rasiej said, “but because the Internet itself has evolved to such a large degree that it’s carrying him.”
