RNC: Obama Would Make Our Problems Worse

The latest from the RNC:

Rush Nails It

Rush Limbaugh calls the Bailout Bill for what it is in this quote from his show yesterday "a political ploy right out of the left-wing Democrat playbook: crisis is the easiest way to manage the behavior of a frightened citizenry.":

"When the government fails to pass a socialism bill and the market goes south, let it go south."

"Regardless how the vote turns out, I am not going to quit today until everybody listening to this program understands who's responsible for what is going on, and it's the very same people who screwed up."

"Here's what we're dealing with, folks: Senator McCain is doing a rally right now in Ohio, and he's promising to end pork barrel spending. The Democrats are in the process of stealing the country, and he's out there talking about earmarks!"

"For every person you hear saying this bailout is going to strengthen the market, it's the exact opposite. The market's not being allowed to work here because the losers haven't been flushed out."

"The Democrats say we face Armageddon, we face a depression, but don't you find it curious that all this is taking place 35 days before a presidential election -- with the Democrat candidate's mantra being 'change'?"

"This is a political ploy right out of the left-wing Democrat playbook: crisis is the easiest way to manage the behavior of a frightened citizenry. That's exactly what's going on here."

"It is a waste of time for all of us to sit around and wait to be inspired by somebody in our party to turn out and vote -- we're going to have to do that on our own."

"Understand what's going on, here: liberalism is liberalism, and the liberals are in the process of stealing the country. If they succeed in this, folks, it's going to take a generation to roll this back."

"'These assets are so riskless,' said Franklin Raines... who will be in Obama's cabinet. Franklin Raines, who gives Obama advice on housing. Franklin Raines, who had to give back the gazillions of dollars he stole from Fannie Mae."

"So there's Obama, running around at the debate talking about how we've lost our esteem. That aggravates me like you cannot believe."

Are You Smarter Than A Congressional Leader?

Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House because her party is in the majority in that chamber.  John Boehner is the minority leader elected by his republican house members.  Both put it all on the line yesterday by supporting the bailout bill.  Neither delivered.

What really happened is very simple.  The voices of the American people could not be ignored.  Estimates of voter opposition to the bailout bill ran from 100-1 against to 300-1 against.  Some pundits this morning are suggesting that only vulnerable congressmen voted against the bill.  I think that may be overly simplistic, but let's assume they are right.

Why would vulnerable congressmen not only vote against the bill, but also vote against their leadership?  The answer has to be that they felt compelled, by contrast I suppose to those in "safe" seats, to do what their constituents wanted them to do.  In other words, only when congressmen need the support of voters do they vote the will of the people they represent.

No wonder America is clamoring for change this year.  We are sick and tired of being told that what we want from our government is not in our own best interest, that we are ill informed, don't understand the complexities of the issue or need to accept that compromise of principles is an integral part of the political process.  We are sick and tired of being told that we are not smarter than the congressional leadership.

But that's not the issue is it?  They may be smarter than us, but we're still the boss and every once in a while they need to be reminded.  Way to go America!

Lunsford Campaign Stuck On One Sour Note

If you are a Kentucky voter this year you, like most of your neighbors, want change.  You want more transparency in government, you want more accountability and you want your elected officials to have a plan for the future which you trust they will work hard to deliver.

And since these voter desires are all very well known, wouldn't you think that Bruce Lunsford would spend more time telling voters what he stands for rather than taking one pot shot after another at Mitch McConnell?

Just ask yourself, do you know what Bruce Lunsford stands for, what he plans to do differently or better in the US Senate, or even whether he is trustworthy enough to be trusted with a vote over your future?  Probably not, and with precious few days left until the votes are counted you probably won't.

Lunsford is seemingly stuck on one sour note, that McConnell's ads about him are unfair and untrue.

Look, to use a point made during the McCain debate, driving up your opponent's negatives is a tactic, but having a plan for the future is a strategy, and a plan for the future is what voters want to see.

Lunsford like Obama has confused tactics with strategy.  He can be compared to a dog chasing a car who has no idea what he'd do with it if he catches it.

And in a year when voters are clamoring for change, this kind of confused politics is really just more of the same.

OK, Here Goes. My Advice To John McCain On The Bailout

At 15 I was a skinny kid who bought a Charles Atlas fitness program out of the back of a magazine.  As a bonus I got a printed course on Jiu Jitsu.  I still remember one of its philosophies:  Use your assailant's momentum against him.

John McCain rushed back to Washington DC because the economic situation in America was much more important than his own campaign (remember his line about losing a campaign being better than losing a war).  Of course, sniffing blood in the water (the inevitable passage of the bailout) the democrats, including Obama, said that McCain's presence did nothing to help get the bailout bill passed.

In fact, one news outlet after another made it clear that McCain's primary role was meeting with members of the House to discuss the bill.

Well guess what, with the national mood running 300 to 1 AGAINST the bill, and the bill being a BUSH proposal, it turns out that the house republicans were the ones who ended up quashing the massive bailout just in the nick of time.

So here's my advice to McCain.  They are attacking you for doing nothing to help PASS the bill.  Accept that criticism with pride.

They are accusing you of meeting with the house and as it turns out the house did not pass the bill largely due to the votes of republicans who went against President Bush.  Accept that criticism.

And then let America know that you rushed in at the critical moment to make certain that Congress did not make a huge blunder by selling we the people down the river.  Make the case that America was facing financial ruin with the passage of this bill that once again you put your campaign on hold, and your country first.

Use their momentum against them.  Absorb it.  It will increase your leverage and your chances for victory.

This is getting silly. First I make a suggestion, then everybody jumps on board. Sheesz!

Okay, I give up, which one of you is sending my stuff to Sean, Rush, Bill Kristol and Politico for them to adopt as their own?

Remember this post of mine:

According to Politico, Governor Palin's team is stocked with Bush veterans.  No doubt experienced hands need to be involved, but over management by Bush insiders carries with it the very real possibility that her genuineness, and her independence will be tarnished.

Governor Palin's appeal is in large part attributed to the very real fact that she is not from his club and does not wear his jersey.  She has successfully and single handedly diffused that criticism by her record of independence, her ability to identify with ordinary people and their ability to see in her the breath of fresh air and real change America needs.

She needs a team of advisors which include experienced hands, but if she allows herself to become managed by only Bush advisors, and not real people from the heartland with a Maverick background of their own, who will let her be herself, then the bounce McCain has enjoyed thus far will be reduced to a dribble as the election nears.

Let Sarah be Sarah, give her good advisors at the top, but do not let her become owned by the Bush team.  Otherwise she will be tagged as a member of that team which of course will play right into the hands of the democrats on election day.

Wellllll....Today Bill Kristol had THIS to say:

John McCain is on course to lose the presidential election to Barack Obama. Can he turn it around, and surge to victory?

He has a chance. But only if he overrules those of his aides who are trapped by conventional wisdom, huddled in a defensive crouch and overcome by ideological timidity.

McCain needs to liberate his running mate from the former Bush aides brought in to handle her - aides who seem to have succeeded in importing to the Palin campaign the trademark defensive crouch of the Bush White House. McCain picked Sarah Palin in part because she's a talented politician and communicator. He needs to free her to use her political talents and to communicate in her own voice.

Stick with me, kiddo.

Evidence Of Conspiracy Contained In Video

As you watch and listen to this smoking gun of a video be sure to notice the image of a man walking in front of Congresswoman Maxine Waters at the clock counter of 5:38. It is none other than former fourth district congressman Ken Lucas, not to incrimnate Ken, only to put the vintage of the video in perspective.

Pelosi Fails In Leadership AGAIN!

With more than enough democratic votes to pass the Emergency Bailout bill Nancy Pelosi once again shows how incapable she is of providing leadership even within her own party, as the majority of the Congress votes against her taxpayer funded cover up of the democratic conspiracy to bankrupt the American economy.

In the hours leading up to the vote on the house floor, an flood of new information has come out making it crystal clear that the democrats in the house have conspired with one person after another to take nearly $1 trillion of taxpayer money and funnel it to their friends on Wall Street and even among the community organizers in ACORN destined to bankrupt the American economy.

The number of important bits of evidence which came forth have made it very clear that the democrats have known or should have known of the ultimate failure of the monster PONZI scheme which was the Fannie Mae program forced on otherwise solid banks because of the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act.

Over the next few days I predict that a loud cry will arise calling for a massive investigation of the relationships between all of the various co-conspirators including those in government leadership, with the ultimate goal being the removal from office, prosecution and punishment of the wrongdoers no matter how high up the ladder, or how far back in history the investigation goes.

Geoff Davis Does Right Thing, Votes NO On Bailout, Makes Vote Public Immediately

I have been very closely watching as things developed today in advance of the bailout vote.  As soon as I learned that it did not pass in the house, I went looking for a record of who voted how.

Geoff Davis did the right thing.  He not only voted AGAINST the bailout, he immediately put an announcement on his website telling voters of his action.

Congressman Ed Whitfield voted against the bill and posted his vote immediately on his website as well.

I could not find the same information regarding John Yarmuth, Ben Chandler or Kentucky's other congressmen.

Good work Geoff.
