Once more, I told the GOP this was going to happen

I predicted at some risk a few weeks ago how the left was going to turn erstwhile college age voters who didn't vote into a meaningful block of voters which could make a difference in a close race this fall.  Well, it appears I may have been on to something.

Read this article about "Progressive Infrastructure", a movement to put people in play instead of money, consultants and media.  Now and for the long run the GOP needs to take this kind of political activity much more seriously.

No Bump For Barack

You'd think after coming home from a world tour which eclipsed his opponent in terms of media coverage that Obama would be enjoying a bump in the polls going into his convention.  Not So.  Gallup Daily tracking poll: Obama 45% McCain 44%.  Hmmmm.........

Obama Running Now From Comments Blogged About Here Earlier

At 9:11 this morning I posted about Obama's comments in Missouri playing the race card.  At 11:47 an AP story caught the same thing, and this time Obama was forced to respond.  He did so in typical Obama fashion, he started making stuff up.

In my early post I pointed out that in his speech Obama said that Senator McCain was going to try to scare people by telling them that Obama doesn't look like "all those other presidents on the dollar bills".

I pointed out that this was playing the race card and that his comments were designed to appeal to his black supporters.  Everybody has now picked up on this.  So how does Obama respond.  Get a load of this crap:

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said Thursday that the senator was not referring to race.

"What Barack Obama was talking about was that he didn't get here after spending decades in Washington," Gibbs said. "There is nothing more to this than the fact that he was describing that he was new to the political scene. He was referring to the fact that he didn't come into the race with the history of others. It is not about race."

Now they've really got him on the run.  In his Missouri speech Obama made reference to the way he "looks" not his lack of "experience".

And which Obama campaign adviser is it that let Robert Gibbs go out and tell people that Obama only meant to say that he is "new to the political scene" (in other words "inexperienced")?  That's McCain's point about Obama to begin with, the guy is only a half term Senator with no experience at all!  So the response to being caught playing the race card is to say "what he meant to say was only that he has no experience"?  And this is supposed to be the "flawless" campaign of a lifetime?  What a joke they are turning out to be.

Going into the democratic convention, this is starting to become a fun race to watch now that they've got Barry on the run.

Be afraid, Be VERY, VERY Afraid!!!!!!!

Remember my earlier post today about Obama referring to himself as the symbol the world has been waiting for?  Take a look at this recent photo folks.  This is really scary stuff!

Obama Calls Himself: "A Symbol... The World Is Waiting For"

Sound familiar?  You think this arrogant "duh...uh...uh...duh...uh... uh" clear thinker hasn't started believing his own press?  You think this guy is grounded enough do the hard job of being president?  Doesn't this sound frighteningly like a Messiah message?

For God's sake can we afford to give this delusional half term senator so much power?

According to several reports, Obama made his messianic comments in a closed door meeting with Congress.  A lot of backpedaling has been going on since, but this guy obviously returned from Europe with his head in the clouds.

You can't make this stuff up: Five Olympic Athletes Fail Gender Test

"We're familiar with drug testing for athletes, but officials at the Beijing Olympics will be taking things one stage further and examining competitors whose sex is in doubt."

Obama Rocked By Latest McCain Ads

How can you tell when a politician has just taken a really hard hit to the jaw?  He goes on defense and starts looking at the ref.  Obama has enjoyed so much adoration lately he momentarily forgot he was in the fight of his life and Senator McCain just tagged him a good one.

First there is the new ad highlighting the fact that Obama is just another product being marketed by the media, like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.  It cuts right to the bone when it asks if Obama is ready to lead our nation.  Of course he's not, and everybody knows it but this ad takes the momentum of his made for Hollywood trip to Europe and turns it on him big time.

Second, now Obama knows the real fight is here at home.  In a speech in Missouri he said this:

"Nobody thinks that Bush and McCain have a real answer to the challenges we face. So what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me," Obama said. "You know, he's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name, you know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

He's looking at the voters like a hard hit fighter looks at the ref with a little complaint in his eye and a little tell tale sign that he's just been hurt.  His speech didn't offer any return fire, it was a very revealing glimpse into his vulnerability.  And he forgot his manners.  It may be acceptable for pundits and hacks to refer the president of the United States by his last name only, but United States Senators are expected to exhibit the respect and decorum of their office and use the proper identification, "President Bush" in public speeches.  Obama has slipped into the street slang that reveals his real lack of experience.

And yes, polls do indicate that many Americans are concerned that his Muslim background and his family history might be worthy of significant investigation in a world at war with Muslim extremists.

And yes, there are and continue to be reasons American voters might ask legitimate questions about his patriotism.  We will not forget his refusal to wear a flag pin, his refusal to hold his hand over his heart during our National Anthem, his twenty year relationship with a radical church that openly preached the damnation of America.  And voters do have legitimate concerns when it comes to examining his priorities after he spent so much time kissing up to Europeans whose interests are not always aligned with ours.

Now, as far as how he looks compared to other "presidents on dollar bills", well first of all, the only president on the dollar bill is Washington and quite frankly other than John Adams, few other presidents have ever really looked much like our first president.  Additionally, once again he is playing the race card himself.  Who does he think this appeals to?  Does he believe that Americans, other than Americans who call themselves "people of color", care what he looks like?  It is the core group of his voting block, the black voters in America, to whom this appeal was being made.  It is they in their churches who preach and teach separatism, racism and entitlement.

Now to the coup de grace Obama just this week also said that he favored some sort of "deeds" by America to make up for the harsh treatment "people of color" have received over the years.  He said he opposed ending affirmative action which is an euphemism for "racial preference".

So, Mr. O, now that you've had your moment in the sun with the crowd attending a rock concert in Germany as your backdrop, you find yourself back home where John McCain has been plodding along, ignored by the press, raising money and keeping you from developing any kind of meaningful lead despite the chants of your entourage all calling you "Champ" as you make your way back into the ring.

Well the bell has rung, and the fight begun and you've just exposed your glass jaw.  What a delicious bout this may turn out to be for the fans in the crowd who came to see you get your clock cleaned.

Morning Funnies

Oh Jeezel Petes! Obama's Economic Advisors All Want Higher Energy Taxes

This week Obama consulted with numerous economic advisers including:

  • Paul Volker, Former Fed Chairman
  • Robert Rubin, Former Treasury Secretary, Citigroup
  • Laura Tyson, Former Chairman of Clinton's Council Of Economic Advisers
  • Robert Reich, Former Labor Secretary
  • Jon Corzine, Governor of New Jersey
  • Bill Bradley, Former U.S. Senator, Managing Director of Allen and Co.

Now comes the scary part.

In 2007 Volcker Advocated an oil tax to raise the cost of oil rather than wait for a market increase in prices, saying it would give the government leverage in reducing global warming and wouldn't have much impact on the economy.

Robert Rubin called for higher energy taxes during his time in the Clinton administration, supporting a broad based energy tax, a 10 cents per gallon gas tax, a BTU tax on oil, coal and natural gas and he worked on the Clinton law which raised gas taxes by 4.3 cents per gallon.

Laura Tyson backed a tax hike on oil, coal and natural gas.  As chairman of the then council of economic advisers Tyson defended President Clinton's BTU tax proposal.

Robert Reich as late as last year was pushing for a "carbon tax" saying "it's good for business".  He also supports a windfall profits tax on Oil Companies.

Jon Corzine said he'd raise New Jersey's gasoline tax because "it's a declining revenue source as people cut down on their driving."

Bill Bradley voted to raise gas taxes while a member of the United States Senate which raised energy prices by nearly 2.4% and gas prices by 4.5% in a single month.

Since we all know now that Obama is clueless himself, the next question about his judgment is where does he go for advice?

Why right to the tax and spend liberals of course, who all know that with Obama as their empty headed president all the bills coming out of a democratically controlled House and Senate will be signed.
